Hey, I don't even know if anyone is still on Xanga...I've kinda switched over to Facebook now that I'm "in college" (technically not yet, but Facebook is fun and new and oh-so-terribly addicting!). I'll probably shut this one down...but I may keep it going for a while since Facebook doesn't offer blogs...

Hope everyone's having a GREAT summer!

sunburn! :)

Ahhh...my sunburn is so itchy! Guess I shouldn't be complaining...at least I had a chance to GET sunburned, huh? :)

The cruise (last week---senior trip) was WONDERFUL. The food was amazing, but even better was the fellowship I had with my friends. The long 14-16 hour (I never exactly timed it and it took longer on the way home because of traffic and a problem on one of the buses) drive was actually not that bad; I got to talk with lots of my classmates, got way too high on sugar (*grin* a very good thing...Pixie Sticks are so good!), listened to some awesome country music when I couldn't sleep, and just had a ton of fun. I think all of us were just in really good moods---I mean, how could you not be in a good mood on a cruise in the Bahamas?

I did come back slightly tan...yay! I'm so fair that it's rare for me to tan...and I still don't know how I burned, but I guess I forgot to put a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th layer of 36 SPF Bullfrog sunscreen in one place. I have a very nice halter line in the front...which you can definitely see today with my v-neck shirt. Oh well. :) I'm just happy I didn't get burned in splotches (like a lot of my friends) or really burned all over. That would have made for a painful ride home.

A couple of us came home sick, me included. Fortunatly, it was just laryngitis, which is just funny (you lose your voice but don't feel bad, even though it KILLED to cough!). I was downing the cough syrup and sucking on cough drops all the way home while everyone laughed at my voice cracking. Ahhh, good times! :) I'm still not totally well, but I'm getting better...

I'm so glad that this week is spring break. I'm staying incredibly busy, but that's good. I can't believe I finish school in about 7 1/2 weeks (including breaks). Crazy. That's a VERY short time to get two more newspapers out and then the senior will issue...oh dear...it will be a busy 7 1/2 weeks!

By the way, I AM going to be a nun (no speaking parts, just singing) in the school musical ("The Sound of Music") this April, so y'all come see me! :) I need to get off to go practice that music sometime before youth group today...

Hey, if you're bored over spring break, read "Till We Have Faces" (C.S. Lewis). I'm only on page 53, but so far it's good. I have to finish it before the end of spring break...test on it Monday or Tuesday when I get back to school...blech. Hate reading comp tests...wish we could just read for enjoyment and discussion...

Well, y'all let me know how y'all are doing---I've been so very out of the loop! I think I've slowed down, sort of. No more stressing with English or Bible or my other classes; I mean, I'll still have to work, but it won't be as bad.

Snow here for two weekends in a row! :) Actually, it's very icy this time...not as much snow, lots of light sleet and freezing rain. Hopefully it won't turn into an ice storm...but it's still fun seeing all this white stuff that we so rarely see down here in the South. :) *grin*

Senior year is finally slowing down a bit, but it's not over yet! We finally got the first newspaper of this year (and the first one with the new program) sent this past week, so I'm anxious to see how it turns out. We have two more issues plus the senior issue...yay! Senior thesis is due March 1 and I've got a book to read by Wednesday and another book by February 28 and government project March 31...but basically I'll be almost free by March 1. :) And cruise and spring break...makes me SO excited!!!

Hope everyone is doing well! :) Leave me notes and I'll do my best to write you back asap.

*hugs*

I hate Math IV with every molecule in my body...

Updates here will be scarce...I'm booked solid until after the cruise. *grin* Can't believe we still got one for our senior trip...so excited! The only bad thing is that I have to work out to get in shape (to look decent in a swimsuit and look cute in my dresses)...not bad, just I don't have the time. I guess I'll find the time...I never work out, but this is a pretty big motivation. :)

Also might be in the spring musical at school (Sound of Music0---am waiting to hear further details and it would be a pain with work, but oh well. It's my senior year...why not give it a shot?

Later, folks. Leave me sweet messages please. I'm lonely...and distressed over all the work I have to do. Seven books read before March 1. Two huge scholarship packets due February 1. 20 page senior thesis for AP English due March 1. 15 minute oral presentation for Bible due sometime early February (and the outline's due on Monday, and I started yet? nope. gonna go do that now).

Paradise Lost (Penguin Classics)

At this point in time (9:42 pm here), I really don't care what my AP English teacher said about her liking Paradise Lost...one thing I agree with her on, it is DIFFICULT! especially when you have almost 80 pages left to read (due tomorrow) and you have absolutely no motivation whatsoever to do it.

what kind of teacher gives a fill-in-the-blank test over important quotes in a hard-to-understand book? I guess this is why this is AP English...and yes, I love it, but right now I'm so tired and so sick of reading for every single stinking class...

why did all the senior teachers plan January as the month to kill us all? it's dreary enough already!

*sigh* enough complaining. 'night y'all!
